A quick tale 22

Amma

They will forget everything she ever did for them. How she would stay up late until they were all home. How she would wait until they were all served before sitting down to eat. Or how she would fast so that they may pass an exam or get a good wife or not get chicken pox. They will remember what a good cook she was and how they miss her food.

    Its one of the undeniable truth. Everyone laments only about the food. But, I feel, along with it everyone laments for the other comforts from "Amma" inwardly.

    Good cook yenbadu IRRAKKAM alla (periya 'ra' please) .. inda kaalathulaYUM neraya husbands sit @ home and do not even help their wives in the kitchen.. avangalai-pondravargalukku cooking oru periya samacharam alla.


    COOKING-ai taazhti pesubavargal, oru naal kitchen la pacha mulaga killi pottu, karuveppalayai aaindu kodukkatum..

    appuram teryum cooking-oda arumai.. kashtam, ellam!

    Mr.Anonymous' comments' first two paras talk abt amma cooking-ai anubavital teryum etc and the last para goes completely ULTA to say IRANGI POGANUMA?

    i still dont get how people can say GOOD COOK alavukku irangi-p-poganuma!!! sirripudan varudu.May be he meant(the comment) 'GOOD COOK-AI MATTUM PATHI PESANUMAA' instead of GOOD COOK ALAVUKKU IRANGI POGANUMA? Correct - daane tamizh post adithavarae?

    how typical of us to use 'kezha mozhies' to justify our 'murpokku seendanigal'.... wonder about what
    ancient sanskrit quotes tell us about who is the luckiest woman... i suppose it would
    be a lady who departs for heaven before her husband!!! i think that that would supersede her achievements as a good cook!

    food from your mother, sex from your wife.... so is this what it is all about.... why
    shouldn't it be let us say.... a women who gets a sensitive husband is the luckiest
    person in the world or well... i thought of something to do with orgasms... well i hope
    you know where i am going...

    'ayya kezha mozhi avargale'... if you do want to read stuff which was purportedly written
    ages ago, at least try reading someone like mahakavi bharathi. you might not understand
    the rage which he feels at the way women are treated in our society, but at least
    (and luckily for him), he is not here to cringe at the how far back into the past the
    indian male has progressed since his time.

    instead of trying to justify your living in the past (based on the truth of anonymous
    sanskrit quotes), try to get up early one morning and cook (maybe) some semia upma
    along with a glass of filter coffee for your mother and your wife... then they might
    consider themselves as truly 'koodathuvaithavargal'....
