A quick tale 38

Where the heart is

They built houses, had children and became citizens of this new country. But home was still an old place where mosquitoes bred in abundance and children slept next to their mothers

Their parents, moved into the city, bought apartments, built houses in low-lying xyzNagars full of mosquitoes. But for them, home was still, the one storeyed semi-tatched house, their resting nest after a long day playing in the paddy field, a dip in the irrigation canal, with atleast half a dozen siblings.

Am really touched by this one....

Extending it Ammani -

They continue to wait for 'Palar' water every other day. They insist on not having a borewell since they do not want to burden mother earth anymore although the water in their well has almost gone dry thanks to flats nearby. They are happy seeing the ones they sacrificed everything for living happily without such difficulties. They continue to stay there - a silent unacknowledged longing tugging at their hearts when they see the 'empty nest'!

The Ones from the city

they couldn't understand
the positive things in our way of life!!!

They came here for the fair. Long walk in the sun and heavy burdens. A struggle really and the crowd! But tomorrow: back Home.

Nice blogs Ammani :-)

Ammani: did u happen to see/hear the single "Blood Brothers" from this group called Karmacy? It's a rap single in Gujarathi and English (with subtitling for the Gujarathi part).

"Maru dhil, my heart, maru loi, my blood from the start
Mari nath, my family two worlds apart,
How do I move on bhai,
Kevirithe jais, cuz no matter where I go,
My soul is in the same place"!

It's been on continous play on my computer since the last two days!
