A quick tale 44

A forgotten lesson

It was a call from her best friend that woke her up. ‘Quick, turn on the telly! There’ve been explosions all over London'. She watched in horror as her beloved city was plunged into chaos. Bodies were retrieved, places cordoned off and a deep sense of shock had taken over. The events made her realise how flimsy life was. ‘I will start living for the day’, she resolved. She would live her dreams, chuck the job she hated so much, get a tattoo, go on a round-the-world trip, have all the sex she could and eat all the ice cream there was. For she may be dead tomorrow. Six months later, she was still in the same job. With a home loan that would take 20 years to pay off.

    True.. Living the days, as if it if your last would have lot of positive effects.
    Do all the good you wanted to do, Leap longway towards you lifetime goal in one day.

    But what ever, i am still to recover from the shock. I was to take the hammersmith and city line[where the first blast took place] this morning to work. Later chose to work from home.
    a small relief, in the sorrow, is to learn that every known face in London is safe.

    It was a sense of relief to know that you were alright. But the details of the blast (all over the net and on TV) were sad...

    Yup, that's how most people are, and nearly all of them deny that.

    sis drives an hour each way everyday
    we had convinced her to take the train

    Nice to know that you are safe.
    "With a home loan that would take 20 years to pay off." ....So true and real. Every one us want to live our lives carefree but somehow end up with 'strings' attached to ourselves!

    to read the latest offering
    that was all there was between them and her
    but the day blats rocked her city
    they hurried to check her blog
    to just see if she was okay!

    Call me a pessimist or whatever. Why is it that we are always glad that someone we know is fine when things arent really fine for many more. 50 people just died and irrespective of whether the person we know is fine or not, someone obviously isnt. And thanking God the survivor is safe doesnt seem to really cut it.
