A quick tale 85

Hero

She was the head girl in your school. Some years your senior, she was the one that every other girl in school admired, emulated and secretly loved. Your classmates would even have a bet about how she would wear her hair that day. You usually won because you knew her style. You were confident that she would become really famous some day. Like an astronaut or a scientist or a novelist. She was destined for greatness, you believed.

You would never have thought that one day she would walk into the supermarket where you now worked. And ask you where you stocked coconut oil. You want to tell her how much she meant to you in your school days. How much you adored and worshipped her. That she hasn’t changed one bit in nearly two decades. That she should have stuck to the fringe she sported back then. Instead, you lead her to the shelf where coconut oil bottles are stacked. And then you lean over and whisper conspiratorially ‘but they are cheaper in the rival supermarket’.

  3. Hi,

Really? I was girls leader (I studied in co-ed). Everyone hated me. If I am going to go to a supermarket where any of my schoolmates works, I think I will get rotten co-conut oil, that too for double price. :)

  4. Now..how abt adding a spin to the story..
What if the 'school pupil leader' was working in the departmental store and u happened to recognise her while buying coconut oil?

I bet this would have happened..
Even if you knew where the coconut oil was..
You would have summoned her and asked where the coconut oil was,to give a pat to ur ego....
Once she pointed to the right shelf..U ud have said..
'Oh..cmon..this stuff is cheaper at the next door shop..Oh..God..when ud these people stop ripping us?'

  6. My take is this:

    You: Hi, you recognize me?
She: Of course, you were my best buddy in school.
You: You know I had a crush on you?
She: Sort of, but I had a soft corner for you too. So, you work here.
You: Yes, and I guess you must be better off than me.
She: No, don't think that I am some big hot-shot. I actually work in the rival supermarket too and do the same job as you. We ran out of some coconut oil and we have an important customer waiting in our shop who wants that and so my boss sent me over here to buy any stock you have. Now where did you say the coconut oil was?
