Pimple
She spotted it on a regular morning inspection of her face. It was perched quietly on her nose like a mischievous child. The longer she stared at it the bigger it grew. Soon it had become so big that it was taking over the face. So when she looked in the mirror, she didn’t notice the beguiling eyes, dimpled cheek, lips that curled up, smooth fall of a chin. Only the bump stood out.
And when she stepped out into the world, everyone seemed to be looking at it. Every whisper was a taunt, every look a stare. She didn’t realise they each had their pimples to think about.

True... very true. People have their own things to think about. The interesting part is, we don't want them to bother us, and at times we are so bugged that they don't bother about us...
Interesting thought in the snippet.
Ammani...you are yet to finish your account of "How you lost your love for Madras" (or have you finished it?)...looking forward to that post....since me is a Madras paithiyam still....love your work.

Ammani..
This one laks ur usual punch:((( But its so true!! How much of attention a stupid pimple hogs!!
Nice one Ammani!
Like somebody said, it did lack your puch, but still it is good.
Way to go..
for some reason didnt like this one as much as I liked your other ones!
guess, u already wrote one which implies the same as this one does.
u post cracking stuff....
way to go...
So true though Ammani. In our own little 'me me me' world we forget that everyone else has their own issues and assume that others are staring at us. How apt, wonderfully written
Ammani, as usual, aptly observed. Y'know, that could have been me (except without the beguiling eyes, dimpled cheeks, etc *wink*). Took a good few years to realise that most people had better things to do than look at me... an epiphany that resulted in an immediate change in me from painfully self-conscious to fairly normal. Thank goodness! :)

ammani - what is this person talking of? I like this very much. My mother refuses to smiles for photos to this day because she is conscious of her "singa-paallu"!

If a girl has a pimple
The solution is simple
Get a metal replica sample
That sells outside a temple
And put it in the hundial :-)
Somewhat like
a group picture
and the only one
you look for is
you :-)
We've all been there - insightful as usual!
haha, teenage worries are indeed big worries...i guess girls kow it more than guys. BTW i suffered a lot because of them.
Its a girl thing. So no comments. But as an aside, it seems as if the focus on looks is becoming a global nightmare what with all kinds of treatments to look young that so many people get done.
